Sweetpool Week

Sweetpool Week continues in Outsideleft as we celebrate the release of their 3rd LP 3am, A Head of Snakes (Slow Century Records) with Happy Shopper #51, bass player, Jase.

1) What was the last electrical appliance you bought?
Electrical appliance? Well i tend to only buy a new appliance when an existing one packs up. So it was a tassimo, pod using coffee maker. I did have as Gaggia espresso machine, which cost hundreds, but despite my best efforts to repair it, continued to leak. Now, as a bit of a coffee purist, i feel the tassimo should be much inferior to my lovely old Gaggia, but it's at worst satisfactory. But when one factors in the convenience of the tassimo relative to the Gaggia I have to say that, in terms of bang for buck....  it's a winner.

2) How many shoes do you own?
A strangely phrased question, as a two footed man I usually I count my shoes in pairs. So, i think i own in the region of 50 pairs of shoes (i've included boots, slippers and pumps too in that estimation). The answer is therefore approximately 100

3) Thinking about only what you are wearing now and including your watch, jewellery and glasses if you wear them, how much would it cost me to get dressed up just like you? And where would I have to go to get the look?
I'm currently jewellery free. But i am wearing some rather fancy Vivienne Westwood spectacles. I'm also wearing limited edition 'no future' pistols dr marten boots. And a nice hat. So I reckon you could get my look for around £500. Specs are available from specsavers, everything else you'd need to search vinted or eBay.

4) What are you going to be eating for dinner tonight?
We had a big Sunday dinner earlier so I imagine something relatively small. Frankly, I don't plan too far ahead, most likely i'll have crisps or nuts or something from the snack cupboard.

5) What is the most amount you have ever spent on a bottle of wine or other alcoholic beverage and when and where was it?
It would be a bottle of 40 year old Armagnac which i got my brother for his 40th birthday, just over 10 years ago. I couldn't be bothered to get him owt for his 50th.

6) What and where is your favourite shop?
Greggs.

7) How do you get around town?
Once i'm in town? Well on foot is my normal mode of transport. But i'm fairly fluid really, i have an old little ford KA if i need to drive, but i do the bus too sometimes.

8) Where is your favourite place to holiday?
Gawd, i haven't been on holiday properly in ages. I guess it doesn't count as a holiday really, but camping in a tent is my favourite. At a festival like bearded theory or equinox.

P.S. sweetpool are at Equinox in September!

WRITE FOR OUTSIDELEFT

If Outsideleft had arms they would always be wide open and welcoming to new writers and new ideas. If you've got something to say, something a small dank corner of the world needs to know about, a poem to publish, a book review, a short story, if you love music or the arts or anything else, write something about it and send it along. Of course we don't have anything as conformist as a budget here. But we'd love to see what you can do. Write for Outsideleft, do. [SUBMISSIONS FORM HERE]

HELP OUTSIDELEFT

Outsideleft exists on a precarious no budget budget. We are interested in hearing from deep and deeper pocket types willing to underwrite our cultural vulture activity. We're not so interested in plastering your product all over our stories, but something more subtle and dignified for all parties concerned. Contact us and let's talk. [HELP OUTSIDELEFT]
